About the Role We're looking for an experienced news editor to lead the production and distribution of our flagship daily news briefing. You'll own the entire editorial workflow—from sourcing and curating stories to writing compelling narratives and overseeing multi-channel distribution. This role requires sharp editorial judgment, a distinctive voice, and the ability to synthesize complex news into accessible daily digests that resonate with our audience. Key Responsibilities - Monitor multiple news sources daily to identify trending stories and verify facts using research tools like Perplexity and NewsWhip - Write and edit a daily news briefing that synthesizes stories into a coherent, engaging narrative with a consistent editorial voice - Format content for multiple distribution channels including email newsletters, web publication, and social media platforms - Oversee automated distribution workflows across email (Beehiiv, Ghost) and social channels (Buffer) to reach subscribers efficiently - Analyze performance metrics including open rates, click-through rates, and social engagement to refine content strategy - Manage publication schedules and ensure consistent daily delivery to subscribers - Collaborate with design tools (Canva) to enhance briefings with visual elements when appropriate - Use data insights from Google Analytics to continuously improve briefing content and format Required Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in news editorial, journalism, or content curation roles - Proven track record producing daily or regular news digests or newsletters - Strong news judgment with ability to identify stories that matter to target audiences - Excellent writing and editing skills with a clear, engaging voice - Experience with newsletter platforms (Beehiiv, Ghost, or similar) and email marketing best practices - Proficiency with editorial tools including Grammarly, ProWritingAid, or comparable editing software Preferred Qualifications - Background in digital journalism or media organizations - Experience with marketing automation tools (Zapier, Buffer) and analytics platforms - Familiarity with SEO and content optimization for web and email - Understanding of audience growth strategies for newsletters Tools & Platforms Perplexity, NewsWhip, Grammarly, ProWritingAid, Canva, 10Web, Beehiiv, Ghost, Zapier, Buffer, Google Analytics
